Eligibility

Eligibility for this program begins as soon as a customer loses eligibility for PIPP Plus, or when they choose to come off of PIPP Plus. Client must be in "good standing" (current on PIPP Plus payments, current on re-verification, etc.) Clients typically lose eligibility for PIPP Plus due to an increase in their income.

Application process

Contact appropriate utility company directly. Client is strongly encouraged to sign up for Graduate PIPP immediately after leaving PIPP Plus in order to take full advantage of this program. Phone for information or to sign-up for payment plan during normal utility customer service hours.

Description

Provides a debt-relief payment plan for clients who are no longer eligible for, or choose not to remain on, the PIPP Plus plan, but who still owe a balance on their utility bill. Customers who pay their monthly Graduate PIPP Plus payment on time and in full will have their remaining balance of that monthly bill and 1/12th of their prior balance forgiven. Gas customers pay an average of their most recent PIPP Plus amount and a budget billing amount. Electric customers pay either an average of their PIPP Plus amount and a budget billing amount or a regular budget payment, or the cost of the electric service billed each month. Program lasts for 1 year.
