Eligibility

Serves Cuyahoga women age 18 or older. Program focuses on females who are ex-offenders/at risk, in emergency or transitional shelters, domestic violence survivors, victims of human trafficking, or who are in a substance abuse treatment program.

Required documents

Photo ID preferred, if possible. A referral from an emergency shelter, probation officer or transitional shelter program is preferred, but not necessary.

Hours

Hours vary as arranged between mentor and mentee. Generally, meets 1 hour per week (four hours per month) for a year.

Description

Provides a structured mentoring program. Mentees are matched according to their skills and interests with women in the professional community who serve as mentors. Mentors and mentees meet once a week to discuss specific topics such as resume building, life skills, job guidance, self-esteem, interpersonal communication, and goal setting. Participants also attend workshops centered on these topics.
