Eligibility

- Serves anyone age 13 and over who would like to help save lives by carrying Naloxone to help reverse the effects of an opiate (opiates can include fentanyl, heroin, methadone, percocet, vicodin, and oxycontin) overdose. - Will also provide service to members of law enforcement and the mental health community. - Targets Tuscarawas County but will provide service to anyone.

Description

Provides training on how to administer naloxone (also known as Narcan) to oneself or others. Naloxone is a prescribed nasal inhalant that reverses an opioid overdose. Clients also learn how to identify the physical signs of an opioid overdose. Upon completion of the training, clients receive a kit that includes two (2) vials of medication, two (2) nasal attachments, an instructional DVD, and a tip sheet on how to recognize an overdose. Kits can be requested to be mailed directly to a person's home.
