Eligibility

Applicant must own and occupy home listed on application (can help those who own a mobile home). Income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Must be a Cleveland Water Department customer/receive a water bill from the Cleveland Water Department (service area covers all of Cuyahoga County EXCEPT the suburbs of Berea, Bedford, Chagrin Falls, Cleveland Heights, and Lakewood). For water tank repair/replacement - unit must be deemed inefficient, malfunctioning, or not working at all (will not replace stolen water tanks). Client may apply for service once every two years.

Required documents

Proof of income, all utility bills, and proof of home ownership.

Application process

Visit website for more information and to download an application - callers should use the homeowner "Home Energy Efficiency Services" application. May also phone for information, M-F 8:30am-5:00pm. Leave a name, address and phone number and a packet will be mailed. Must mail, fax, or drop off (near suite 134) completed application. Once the application is returned, it will take 2-3 weeks to determine eligibility.

Description

Provides various water repairs. For the main water line, will repair or make service line replacements. In the home, will repair or replace water tanks in addition to repairing plumbing fixtures such as leaking faucets, broken toilets (installation of water saver toilet in the event of non-repairable toilet). Also, repair/correction of frozen water lines and k-line replacements. When available, may install water conservation kit to help reduce water usage.
