Eligibility

- Serves residents of Medina, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Summit, Wayne, and Ashland counties. - Must be at least 21 years old. - Not available to people with a felonious assault or aggravated misdemeanor record. - Call the office or visit the website for other eligibility criteria.

Required documents

Check website for complete list. - Completed application. - Firearms training certificate. - Government-issued photo ID. - Self-addressed, stamped envelope. - 2" x 2" color head shot photo. - Payment. - Must bring evidence of military service and competency (DD214 or Active-Duty card) to qualify for fee waiver.

Application process

- Complete an appropriate firearms safety training course. - Complete the CCW Application Form. - Visit the website to schedule an appointment. - Permits processed in person by appointment only. - Appointments not accepted over the phone.

Fees

Fixed fee. - Fee waived for those who meet one of the following criteria: active or reserve member of the armed forces; a person who has retired from or was honorably discharged from military service in the active or armed forces.
