Those with a child support case and/or issues. Accepts court referrals. Must be registered with NorthStar Neighborhood Reentry Center to participate.

Required documents

For CHILD SUPPORT NAVIGATION: It is helpful, but not mandatory, for participants to have an Administrative Order (Can obtain from Office of Child Support Services or the Courts) and/or their latest payment statement from Child Support Services. For PARENTHOOD DEVELOPMENT: Appropriate referral documents from the Court or other supervising agency.

Description

Provides two workshops: Child support Navigation and Parenthood Development. CHILD SUPPORT NAVIGATION: workshops inform families on how to navigate the child support system. Provides information and practical application on self-managing the fundamentals of their support orders from modification to termination. PARENTHOOD DEVELOPMENT: provides fathers, mothers and other parenting figures (aunts, uncles, grandparents, adult mentors) with information and support in their quest to enhance their parenting abilities. The group sessions include the sharing of researched materials on the subjects of: ages and stages of childhood development, family communications, male/female relations and punishment versus discipline.
