Eligibility

Must meet federally established limits for adjusted gross family income, according to the guidelines of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). They must pass other eligibility criteria including a criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or eligible immigrant. Only one adult per household may apply, and only one application may be submitted (violation of this rule may cause ALL applications to be discarded). If coming from an area affected by a federally declared disaster, must have been living in public housing and be displaced from the home due to the disaster. For persons convicted of a felony, must be at least three years after being convicted, other eligibility may apply.

Fees

Client pays 30-40% of family's monthly adjusted income, with a subsidy making up the difference between this amount and the market rent of the unit. There is an upper limit on acceptable rental price.
