Eligibility

Varies by forgiveness program. Public Service Loan Forgiveness requires a minimum of 10 years (and 120 payments) of qualifying full-time employment. Teacher Loan Forgiveness requires five (5) full-time, consecutive years working in a low-income school. Income-driven payment forgiveness is generally 20-25 years and varies by type of loan. Other eligibility qualifications may apply for these programs.
