Eligibility

Anyone who has physical custody of a child and needs assistance establishing a child support order or with collection of current or past-due child support payments is eligible to apply for child support services. Either parent may apply for assistance with the establishment of paternity or a review and modification of existing support orders.

Applications may be started in-person or by phone with the office in the applicant's county of residence, by calling the child support hotline, or online Note: Child support enforcement services are automatically provided to current and former recipients of K-TAP and public medical assistance.

Description

Provides assistance to parents with minor children who are seeking financial support from a noncustodial parent. Administers child support and enforcement services, including location of non-custodial parents, establishment of paternity, establishment of financial and medical support, enforcement and collection of support payments, and review and modification of support orders.
