Eligibility

Lakewood residents (both homeowners and renters) with yearly income at or below 80% area median income. Must apply and be approved prior to painting - no receipts dated before approval will be accepted.

Required documents

Proof of residency (current utility bill or copy of driver's license) Proof of income (three recent pay stubs, benefits letter, rental income, interest on investment, child support, bank statements).

Description

Provides a grant between $ 2,500-$5,500 to City of Lakewood homeowners and residents for exterior paint, supplies and labor to paint their home. Participants will be educated on lead safety issues. Property will be inspected by the agency (not a Building Dept. inspection) prior to approval, after prep work for the painting is done, and after work is completed. Amount of grant will be limited to amount of painting required as well as income guidelines.
