Eligibility

Serves Darke County households with at least one child under the age of 18 (or through 19 if the child is still in high school), pregnant women (from conception to delivery), and (in certain cases) the non-custodial parent. Family must have income which is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. At least one member of the family must be a U.S. citizen or qualified alien. Must have a court ordered eviction notice, be homeless, or seeking new living arrangement due to uninhabitable conditions. Assistance will only be given once in a 12-month period. Client will need to demonstrate that they will be able to make ongoing rent payments after assistance has been given.

Required documents

Completed application form, proof of address, proof of financial need (all income which has been received by any member of the household during the previous 30 days will be considered gross income, both earned and unearned, will be counted verbal verification of income from the income source is permissible), proof of ALL liquid assets (verbal or written). Other documents will vary depending on the need - this is explained on the application form, agency will advise.
