Eligibility

- Serves customers of Ohio Edison (a FirstEnergy Company) that are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. - Must have at least 12 months electrical service in your name. - Renters can qualify if they own the appliances. Verification and a waiver of liability from the landlord is required. - May not have received assistance from this program in the past.

Required documents

Will be requested as needed an include: - Most current electric bill. - Proof of income for everyone in the household 18 or older for the last 30 days. (HEAP/PIPP application information can be used if it is less than a year old.) - Copy of Social Security cards for each household member. - Copy of applicant's driver’s license or state identification card.

Offers energy conservation services for low-income households. Provides a home inspection to identify needed conservation measures, free LED light bulbs installed, and consumer education. Provides energy efficient refrigerator and/or freezer on a case-by-case basis.
