Eligibility

- Serves residents of Portage County who are in need of furniture due to a housing crisis within the past 60 days (such as leaving a homeless shelter, domestic violence shelter, or who lost their furniture due to bed bugs). - Clients who need furniture due to fire or flood will be considered, but should first check with PRC at Portage County Job and Family Services (JFS) or The Elizabeth Clark Fund at Goodwill. - Program may be accessed once in a 12 month period.

Required documents

- Signed lease or proof of home ownership. - Those who are obtaining housing after homeless or domestic violence shelter stay will need documentation of their shelter stay (shelter letter). - Those obtaining housing after incarceration will need documentation of re-entry program (if they are involved in one, otherwise call for information). - Those needing to replace furniture after a bed bug infestation will need documentation of treatment and follow up inspection (if they are living in the same residence).

Call the office to schedule an appointment. Once the voucher is received, the client has 30 days to use it.

Description

Provides Habitat for Humanity ReStore furniture vouchers in emergency situations. Maximum amount per household member is $125 up to a maximum of $350. NOTE: The ReStore does not carry mattresses or bed springs.
