Eligibility

Serves Darke County. Open to all veterans, active duty military, as well as their dependents and/or survivors.

Required documents

Military Discharge Form DD214 (or equivalent), marriage certificate, divorce certificate (of all past marriages veteran and spouse), birth certificate(s) of dependent children, death certificate (veteran/spouse). If applicable, may require proof of household income and net worth proof of Social Security Number(s).

Description

Provides accredited service officers who know the requirements of the Department of Veterans Affairs compensation and pension programs and will assist veterans to complete paperwork and obtain the benefits to which they are entitled. Will aid with the preparation of forms, documentation of claims, proper submission of claims to VA and other follow-up agencies, and obtaining records (military and medical). Callers will be referred to the county Job and Family Services office for assistance with unemployment forms.
