Homeless Shelter For Single Women And Women With Minor Children | Lima'S Samaritan House

Serves persons experiencing homelessness who identify as women and women with minor children (children may be age 0 through 17). Adults must be able to take care of themselves. Does not accept sex offenders or those convicted of arson. Must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Serves those who are currently homeless (living in a place not meant for human habitation, such as cars, parks, sidewalks, abandoned/condemned buildings, or a building without heat during winter. Also serves those who are about to become homeless due to one of the following circumstances: 1) a court-ordered eviction within 7 days; 2) discharge within 7 days from an institution (such as a mental health/substance use treatment facility or jail) in which they have lived for more than 30 consecutive days; 3) "doubled-up" with family or friend and told to leave within 7 days. Those who are already residing in emergency shelters or other transitional or supportive housing for homeless persons are considered homeless and are eligible for this service.

Must have Photo ID for adults, and Social Security Numbers for adults and accompanying minor children (without ID, only the Director or Case Manager can give approval for admission). Effort will be made to help the potential resident identify resources where they may have access to copies of identification (Job and Family Services, doctor, school, and employer)
