Eligibility

Adults age 18 or older who are Geauga County residents with income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Applicant must own the vehicle that needs repaired. Must have a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance. Can only access this service once in three years. Cannot pay for car repairs that have already been done. Must apply for Prevention Retention Contingency (PRC) through Geauga County Job and Family services first (if eligible).

Required documents

Identification required (one of the following): Birth Certificate, State I.D. or Driver's License. Social Security cards for entire household, valid drivers license, registration, proof of insurance, verification of income for last 30 days (pay stubs, benefits letter, etc.). All vehicles must be evaluated by an ASE partnering business and receive approval from Lifeline prior to vehicle repairs (agency will advise on this). Assistance is provided on a first-come-first-served basis availability may vary depending on funding.

Description

Provides assistance by paying for car repairs up to $1000. Only covers repairs that will make the car road-worthy. This program does not cover towing. Payment is made directly to the repair shop providing the repairs.
