Eligibility

Assistance is limited and may run out at times. Serves individuals who are residents of 44114, 44115, 44120 44121, 44122, 44124, 44128, 44137, 44139 Zip codes with income no more than 200% of poverty. Must have some source of income. Must not have received assistance within the previous 24 months. For rental assistance, serves individuals in danger of eviction. Those wanting utility assistance between November and March must have been rejected by the E-HEAP program and have utilities shut off or in danger of being shut off. If on PIPP program, must be up to date on payments.

Required documents

Photo ID Social Security cards for each family member: accepts print out from county public assistance agency with Social Security number birth certificates for each child proof of income for utility assistance: Proof of residency: accepts disconnection notice with their name disconnection notice between November and March, must show proof of being rejected by E-HEAP: accepts letter from E-HEAP stating rejection. Notification of eviction (for rent assistance) and letter from landlord (will be notified of required content). Deposit assistance available if moving from substandard housing or homeless. Will be notified of other requirements depending on specific situation.

Call M-F: 8:30am-4:00pm or leave message that will be returned between 1-2 business days for screening. Referral does not guarantee assistance. Agency will do a needs assessment.

Description

Provides assistance with paying rent or utilities (gas and electric) for those in emergency situations. Rent assistance is limited to a maximum of $250. This may include rental deposit assistance.
