Eligibility

Anyone with a conviction for a sex offense is not eligible for this program. Ages 18 and over. Community Health Worker training requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Photo ID: driver's license or state ID Community Health Worker training requires successfully passing a background check.

Hours

Required orientation is offered weekly on M and Th: 9:00am-12:00noon. Customer service class is offered one week a month. Other classes revolve and are generally during the week day. Classes are offered year-round. Community Health worker training is 12 weeks.

Application process

Pre-registration required for orientation. Call to schedule orientation M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm. Following orientation, staff will meet with participants to determine interests and which program best fits.

Fees

Customer service class is free. Community Health Worker training has a fixed fee.

Description

Provides opportunities to learn job skills or to increase the level of skills to gain employment in a variety of professions. Courses include customer service, computer classes, and basic job seeking skills. Certificates are issued upon completion of classes. Community Health Worker training is also offered and may result in a state level nursing license.
