Eligibility

- Serves residents of Lorain County with household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. - Applicants must also meet case acceptance guidelines.

- None required to apply for assistance. - Must provide all papers related to legal problem and a signed release of information forms to receive assistance.

Evaluates cases involving: - A municipal Water Department billing dispute where the Water Review Board issued an unfavorable decision. - A medical certification in order to maintain utilities. - Tampering allegations. - Utility shut-offs by landlords in private landlord-tenant and subsidized and public housing. - Bankruptcy where Chapter 7 may be an option to keep utility service.
