Eligibility

You must be below 175 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. They must be on PIPP Plus or sign up for PIPP Plus or another payment plan. Bulk fuel individuals may receive a delivery of fuel if their tank contains 25% less of its capacity.

Required documents

Income for 13 weeks for everyone in the household 18 years or older. Social Security cards for all household members. Current DPL, Vectren Energy, Ohio Edison or a breakdown for the Village of Yellow Springs.

Hours

The Montgomery County office will be open 8:00am - 6:30pm with available appointments each day in half hour slots, Monday through Thursday, beginning 11/4/19. Fridays they are open for appointments from 8:00am - 4:30pm. All clients will be required to have an appointment. They release over 400 appointments out into the community each month.

Description

The Winter Crisis program runs from November 1 through March 31 extended until May 1, 2020 to assist individuals having trouble paying their gas or electric bill if that is there heating source, a one time payment of up to $175 for regulated gas or electric if this is your source of heat or $750 for unregulated utility customers. And $900 for bulk fuel, and $550 for coal or wood assistance and Furnace Repair up to $500.00 Clients will be processed for all available programs, including HEAP, PIPP and Winter Crisis at each appointment.
