Eligibility

* At least 21 years of age * Legal resident of the United States * Complete a required training course, compliant with Ohio Revised Code Section 2923, and obtain a Certificate of Competency

Required documents

First time applicants: * Complete a CCW application. * Have a color photo, passport size 2x2, taken within the last 30 days * Have a valid identification, driver's license, state ID, or passport * Pass a criminal background check and mental competency check * Have an original Certificate of Competency or Prior Equivalent Documentation * Pay the non-refundable fee * Have fingerprints electronically scanned or ink rolled Active Duty/Retired Active Duty/Honorably Discharged Military, also bring: * Provide proof of active duty status: Orders and/or Military ID Card * If retired/discharged a copy of your DD214 Retired Law Enforcement, also bring: * Provide proof of Ohio Peace Officer Certification * Provide proof of retirement: SF401, Retirement System Documents

* New License: $67 * New License, if Ohio resident for less than 5 years: $77 * Renewal License: $50 * Renewal License, if Ohio resident less than 5 years: $60 * Emergency or Temporary License: $37 * Emergency or Temporary License if Ohio resident less than 5 years: $47 * Replacmement License: $15 * Mailed License (This is in addition to application fee): $1 * Military Applicant (With Military ID or Proof of an Honorable Discharge): No Charge * Additional $10 fee will be charged for a FBI Background Check if applicant has not been an Ohio resident for the last 5 years
