Eligibility

Individuals, age 18 and older, who have developmental or physical disabilities and reside in Cuyahoga County. Generally, does not accept those with violent behaviors or drug abuse. Must be able to self-medicate, if applicable.

Hours

M-F: 9:00am-5:00pm. Training lasts an average of 2-12 weeks and sometimes longer, depending on the individual's needs.

Application process

Will generally need a referral from CCBDD, BVR, Bureau of Workmen's Compensation, or School (if enrolled). Phone M-F: 9:00am-5:00pm for information. Some clients may need to go through a 1-2 week assessment period to determine if they are appropriate for the program and/or to determine best course of action.

Fees

Fixed fee, usually paid through a third party funding source such as the County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) or Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR) etc. Participants are compensated during training program. Accepts self-pay.

Description

Offers work assessment and work adjustment training for persons with disabilities. Areas of training include retail (this will vary depending on the client needs and what is available at the retail locations), laundry, housekeeping, and nursing home duties and food preparation. Other services provided include employment search training, job placement assistance, on-the-job training/coaching, and job retention support.
