Home Modifications And Maintenance Services | United Senior Services

USS provides simple and handicap accessible home modifications to ensure older homeowners can continue to live safety in their home. Simple tasks include changing ceiling light bulbs and installing grab bars. More complex projects include handicap accessibility such as raised toilets, showers, and ramps. This is not a complete list of eligible projects. USS also provides seasonal grass mowing for eligible older homeowners who need assistance to maintain their property.

Outreach/Heap/ Emergency Assistance-Uss Caring Services | United Senior Services

This program is designed to help people age 60 or better, with low income living in Clark county meet one time expenses such as a utility shut off notice or an unanticipated critical expense. Provides and administers the Community Development Block Grants. Works with the intent of assisting persons of low and moderate income, (regardless of their financial means) to live in a decent, safe, and sanitary environment by eliminating urban blight and detrimental living conditions. Provides funding for home rehabilitation. Common examples of housing services we have assisted with in the past: roofing and gutters, porches and stairs, water heaters, furnaces, exterior doors, and electric upgrades. The financial limit for an emergency rehab project is $22,500.

Offers two (2) programs: - The Home Repair Program provides no-cost upgrades and fixes for qualified homeowners. This grant-funded program requires no repayment by the homeowner. - The Home Rehabilitation Program offers more extensive repairs and upgrades for homes. Assistance will be in the form of a declining-forgivable loan. There is no monthly payment, and no interest will be charged. No credit check is needed. 100% of the amount borrowed will be forgiven over (5) years provided owner continues to own and occupy the home. NOTE: Funding varies from year to year and might not always be available.
