Financial Assistance | United Way Services Of Geauga County

Works with a variety of churches and organizations to provide temporary emergency financial aid for residents of Geauga County. Provides assistance with past due rent and mobile home lot payments (does not help with current month's rent). Also assists with utility bill payments (water, gas, electric), fuel oil, and propane. Will help with purchasing wood for heating. Does not help with phone bills. Provides gasoline vouchers for medical appointments or job interviews. Funds are limited and subject to availability and the amount of assistance provided may vary depending on what funds the agency has and the client’s situation. In all cases, agency will check to see if the client is eligible for assistance through other programs or agencies first. Payments are made directly to the vendor (not the client). In some situations, client may need to provide a co-payment for the service needed.

Emergency Assistance - Veterans | Veterans Service Commission - Cuyahoga County

Assists veterans with little or no income in a variety of ways: provides food and clothing vouchers, which are only honored in Cuyahoga County, in emergency situations. In certain circumstances, provides assistance with paying for rent, rent deposit, mobile home lot rental fees, and utility payments (gas, electric, and water). Will help with transportation expenses (which is usually in the form of bus passes). Does not help with property taxes, car insurance, or car payments. Assists with up to $999 in burial expenses for indigent veterans.

Geauga Adult Collaborative | Ravenwood Health

Provides case management to coordinate link clients to community resources at a variety of social service and government agencies. Provides guidance and follow-up to the client to assist with the application process for the services they are being linked to. Goal is to stabilize the client's financial situation. In cases where there are no existing community resources that can help with the client's particular issue, the Collaborative may provide financial assistance including (but not limited to): housing (rent payment/rental deposit), utilities (gas, electric, water, bulk fuel), transportation (gas cards, car repair), etc.

Prevention, Retention And Contingency (PRC) - Housing / Utilities | Geauga County Job And Family Services

Provides vouchers to assist with past due house/apartment/mobile home lot rent payments, mortgage payment (will help with first month's rent but not security deposits - $1,000 maximum per 12 month period); utility bill payment assistance (including gas, electric, bulk fuel water - $500 maximum per 12 month period). May also assist with the purchase or repair of major appliances ($750 maximum per calendar year). May assist with the purchase of bed frame, box springs, mattress, cribs and child beds ($500 maximum in 12 month period). Provides up to $2000 in moving expenses in certain cases (once per lifetime). In some cases may be able to help with home repair services (generally, only enough to cover a small repair). May consider assisting with other housing related needs at the discretion of the agency. Does not assist with PIPP Plus payments.
