Safe At Home | Ohio Secretary Of State
Provides protections for survivors of domestic violence, sexual battery, human trafficking, rape, or stalking including:
*Creating a Legal Substitute Address: serves as their address in virtually all state and local public records such as speeding tickets, school records, or court documents
*Authorizes the BMV to Create a Safe ID: the BMV can replace their address with the Secretary of State's address in Columbus.
*Mail Forwarding: may have all mail sent to a PO Box in Columbus to be sorted and sent to their actual address to avoid mail being directly sent to them.
*Confidential Voter Registration Form: their information will not appear on public voter registration lists.
*Conceals Real Estate Records: convert records held by a county recorder, auditor, engineer, and others to a confidential status.

Safe at Home (SAH) is an address confidentiality program for survivors of domestic violence, stalking, human trafficking, rape, and/or sexual battery. Individuals living in the same house as the survivor are also eligible for this program. The program is most effective if a participant has just moved or will move in the immediate future.
