Hospital Advocacy For Sexual Assault/Abuse | Crime Victim Services

Provides support and assistance in the hospital emergency room to victims of rape, incest, and sexual assault as well as the families of those assaulted. Volunteers meet survivors at the hospital and stay with the victim through the physical exam and the police report. Volunteers provide support through interviews, medical exams, trauma and financial problems, and court proceedings (regardless of whether or not the offender is arrested or prosecuted).

Provides comprehensive medical services and resources for children who have been sexually abused, physically abused, witnessed violence, or was a victim of human trafficking. Services include the following: * Forensice interview. Recorded and shared with appropriate professionals, such as law enforcement, Children Services, prosecutor, physician, etc. * Sexual assault medical exam on site, with pediatric SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) nurse.
