Services include basic math, reading, and writing skills, secondary education/high school equivalence preparation, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Every other week, local teens gather at Thurber Center to write, create, and explore ways to get their stories on paper. Whether it's a passion, or just a hobby, we invite any student in grades 9-12 to join us for an opportunity to spend time with others who also like to write.

The Adult Diploma Program at C-TEC’s Adult Education Center is a new opportunity for any resident of Ohio who is 20 years old or older, and does not already have a High School Diploma or GED credential. Learning is student-centered, self-paced and begins with a Career Pathway in mind. From student orientation, career counseling, assessment and enrichment classes, to technical training that leads to an industry approved credential, this program is designed to provide support and promote success during and after graduation. Adult Diploma participants will receive their High School Diploma upon successful completion of the credential program, and acquiring the designated industry credential for their assigned program. Providing area students after-school care with a safe, fun and positive environment where they learn life skills and receive help in a variety of ways, including: - Homework help - Studying help - Activities - Accessibility to Technology - Snacks - New friends.

Provides a 6-week workshop that provides families and caregivers with hands-on strategies for building literacy at home, reinforces the fact that parents and caregivers are their child's first and most important teacher, and builds text-rich environments at home by providing take-home books and other parent resources for families who participate in the program. All participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program and other incentives.

Provides adult education, college transition preparation, GED preparation, basic academic skills enhancement for employment and training, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes and preparation for the US citizenship exam.

Provides homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities and encourages members to become self-directed learners. Designed specifically to help kids and teens with homework, this program is available after school at Clubs. Dedicated youth development professionals and volunteers supervise each session and help youth members complete their assignments for the day. When they finish their work, they may choose to participate in a variety of other engaging and educational activities to develop their skills even further.

Provides a number of supports to families to help prepare their children for kindergarten. Services include home visiting, free books, parenting support, school supplies and step-by-step support for registration and transition into kindergarten.

Offers a school-readiness program. Students learn and practice academic skills, classroom skills, and social skills to prepare them to enter school and succeed in Kindergarten and beyond. Strong focus on early literacy, especially for English language learners.
