Provides volunteer opportunities for older adults.

The Public Works Department includes the Forestry Division, Street Maintenance Division, and Traffic Control. The Utilities Department includes Sewer Maintenance Division, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Water Distribution Division, and the Water Treatment Plant. Services provided are snow removal, street sweeping, leaf pickup, removal of dead animals (in the street), pothole repair, tree planting and removal (area between curb and sidewalk only), street lights and street signs, and catch basin clean outs.

Provides enforcement of all laws and ordinances, preventing crimes, investigating criminal activity, apprehending, arresting, and detaining suspects, presenting evidence, regulating traffic, investigating traffic accidents, and engaging in other activities that protect lives and property and preserve peace.

Provides a weatherization review, safety inspection on combustion appliances such as a heating unit, gas stove, water tank, etc. Other services may include a tune-up / repair of combustion appliances, insulation of attics, insulation of sidewalls, sealing of heating ducts, insulation of floors or foundation perimeter, insulation of water heaters, reduction of air leakage from major sources, personalized energy management plan and information on how to control humidity in the home.

Provides a phoneline, as well web forms, that Ohio residents can use to report the location and abuse or neglect of non-native wild animals by private owners. Non-native animals include lions, tigers, primates, constricting or exotic venomous snakes and large bears.

Performs services to protect and promote public health in Fulton County. This is done by regulation enforcement, inspections and providing educational materials and programs for the public. In order to protect and promote public health, the enviornmental health division works closely with local, state, and national, and non-governmental agencies.

Offers technical assistance to developers, landowners, and municipalities related to floodplain management, drainage, erosion control, and pond construction. Makes available countywide soil surveys which may be of use to potential property buyers who need information on potential pollutant and/or water table information.

Provides presentations to schools & groups about recycling, composting, illegal dumping, reuse, reduce, buy recycled, and other solid waste issues.

Provides Installation of water conservation devices including low-flow showerheads, toilet dams and faucet aerators.

Dispatches police officers to the scene of a crime in progress, or a police emergency incident.

Inspects sewage systems and private water systems, such as wells and cisterns.

Inspects and monitors drainage and sediment regulations on construction sites in Cuyahoga County in order to prevent pollution from storm water runoff and soil erosion. Offers technical assistance to developers, land owners, and municipalities in order to ensure compliance with state and federal permits such as: road layouts, stream, and wetlands protection, proper stream crossings, slope stability, natural resource inventory, and suggested site layout. Conducts and makes available county-wide soil surveys which may be of use to potential property buyers who need information on potential pollutant and/or water table information and to landowners when looking to site a building or before entering a lease for oil and gas drilling. Provides Watershed Coordinators who work in specific watershed areas to evaluate problems and then implement action plans to improve the watershed by working with all stakeholders of the watershed area.
