Provides an emotional and social development program for the purpose of stemming violent or unruly behavior in elementary aged school children. Provides classroom curriculum focusing on social skills, non-violent problem solving, and improving classroom behavior. Offers interpersonal skills training to parents on issues such as anger management, communication, depression, and non-violent discipline techniques. Program features therapeutic art and music, outdoor education, and community-based service learning. Family involvement and support are part of the program as well as case management.

Lessons help students to learn and build essential life skills through discussion, games, role-plays, and engaging activities.

Provides a wide variety of personal enrichment classes for children and adults of all ages. Offerings include, but are not limited to, arts and crafts, business and financial management, computers, cooking, dance, fitness, tai-chi, yoga, health awareness, meditation, gardening, foreign languages, travel, self-defense, photography, babysitting classes, acting, car care, college preparation and job search strategies.

Local chapter members learn leadership skills and electoral practices by electing officers of the group. Monthly meetings are focused on topics related to disability advocacy and building self-advocacy skills. There are also monthly volunteering opportunities and regular social events to offer further connection to the community.

Therapeutic mentoring is a set of community-based clinical services provided to individuals who are having difficulties with social, communication, problem solving, conflict-resolution, and/or independent living skills. Therapeutic mentors are trained professionals who work with clients to develop and practice these skills in the community. The client and therapeutic mentor may meet at the client’s home, at school, or in the community to address and practice social, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and independent living skills. The therapeutic mentor will meet with the client on a weekly basis at the beginning of treatment; however, the frequency of contact may decrease over time based on client need and progress. In addition, the therapeutic mentor will meet with the client, parent(s)/caretakers, and the counselor on a regular basis to evaluate client progress. Based on the needs of the client, the length of the program may vary. The client, parent(s)/caretakers, therapeutic mentor, and counselor will decide when the client has completed treatment. Program completion will occur once the client’s treatment goals related to the program have been successfully completed.

Offers social and emotional learning (SEL) program that focuses on self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationships, and responsible decision-making. Life School aligns with both the Ohio Department of Education’s K-12 Social and Emotional Learning Standards as well as CASEL’S Framework. My Lens, My Life is an SEL-based experiential program that develops social awareness and empathy in students and seeks to stop or reduce bullying, harassment, disrespect, and other undesirable social interactions.
