Provides information concerning gardening and urban farming in the soil including assistance with interpreting soil tests, how to get soil tested, stringing tomatoes, how to pull a hydrant permit, varieties of plants, sourcing organic materials, disease issues, etc. Also offers workshops pertaining to gardening, such as seed starting and organic amendments (fertilizers vs. minerals vs. soil conditioners). Does not provide any type of funding for gardening or urban farming. Assistance does not involve physical labor, such as planting, weeding or on-ground applications.

Provides gardening information including diagnosis of plant and insect problems by phone or online. Offers gardening workshops for beginner and advanced gardeners, and a speaker's bureau for community groups and organizations.

Provides a variety of recreational and educational programs for youth, adults and families. Topics may include, but are not limited to: arts and crafts, arts appreciation, music performances, gardening instruction, public lectures and discussions, summer reading clubs, and film presentations. Offers a horticulture instruction course. Once accepted into the program, must attend a training class then complete 50 hours of volunteer activity. Volunteer Master Gardeners serve in various ways including, but not limited to, speaking in the community, setting up gardening displays, and answering questions on the Master Gardener Hotline.

Gardens are located at schools, apartments, neighborhoods, and partnered with may organizations. The gardeners range in age from pre-school youth to adults at senior centers. We teach healthy gardening for healthy lives.
