This 10-week group is for adult survivors of traumatic loss.Each week, different different topics related to your grief journey are introduced. Through education, activities, group engagement, and support, you will have an opportunity to connect with others on the same journey. Professionally trained and experienced facilitators lead these groups that strive to cultivate a safe, supportive healing environment.All are welcome, regardless of ethnic, cultural, and faith backgrounds. Groups generally meet for two hours which includes time for peer socialization.

Bereavement Doulas provide support for birth in any trimester and support in any outcome. These ladies have both experienced loss personally, and are now certified and available to listen, validate, offer support, and point you to resources to help you navigate your loss. This applies whether you are pregnant and facing a life-limiting diagnosis, currently happening miscarriage, stillbirth, or if your loss was anytime in the past. They strive to be available to meet parents in the ER or hospital if needed in the middle of miscarriage, stillbirth, labor with an expected loss, etc. This is at no cost.
Contact the Birth Circle to be connected with someone who has experienced loss or attend our monthly support group. The support group is held on the first Thursday of every month from 6:30-8:00 at Central Avenue Church, 73 Central Avenue, Athens. Childcare is available.

Camp HOCO - An in-person children’s grief camp, open to children, ages 6-12, who have lost a loved one. During the camp, bereavement counseling professionals use art, music, hikes, and activities to help children understand their emotions. For more information, contact Maria Johnson at [email protected] or 740.788.1474.
Camp HOCO at Home - Provides greater access to grief support for children experiencing the loss of a loved one, Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio has expanded its children’s grief support services with Camp HOCO at Home, an innovative box version of the in-person camp. The Camp HOCO at Home box comes with instructions for parents and guardians to follow. The box includes information about how children grieve, common emotions, and coping skills that can be helpful, as well as activities for the family to do to explore common issues children experience when grieving.
Support Groups - Grief Works is a support group designed to support adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one. These support groups are offered at various times throughout the month and provide a safe space for those grieving. Topics include myths about grief, normal grief reactions, secondary losses, factors that influence the grief journey, and self-care.
School Support Groups - In partnership with local school districts, Pathways of Hope provides this program to offer education and support to children who have faced a significant loss in their lives in a school setting. Celebration of Life - Annual services to honor and celebrate the lives of those lost are hosted by Pathways of Hope. For more information, contact Maria Johnson at [email protected] at 740.788.1474.
