NAMI support groups provide support for everyone. Peer to peer groups, which are peer-led and offer participants an opportunity to share their experiences and gain support from other attendees. NAMI Connection is a support group for people with mental health conditions. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who've been there. NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for family members, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.

Peer Support | Center For Disability Empowerment

Matches experienced individuals with disabilities to our new consumers for support toward reaching specific goals. Peer support may be provided individually or in groups. Individuals with disabilities can create an Independent Living Plan (ILP) which they direct in that they choose the goals they would like to accomplish and they are guided by employees who provide advice on how to achieve the stated goals.

Provides bereavement support services through volunteer contacts throughout the state that are there to offer encouragement and hope through a difficult time. Also provides referral resources and has a library of grief materials that can be sent to families free of charge.

Harm Reduction Clinic | Athens City-County Health Department

The Harm Reduction Clinic is held every Wednesday and offers a one for one syringe exchange up to 30 syringes, naloxone distribution and training, Hepatitis A/B immunizations, Opioid Navigator and peer counseling services. Additionally, community naloxone distributions will occur at the following: New Marshfield Community Center- 3rd Monday of every month, 1:30pm-2:30pm Walmart (E State Street)- 1st, 2nd, and 4th Monday of every month, 1:30-2:30 pm.

Substance Abuse Counseling | Cairn Recovery Resources Llc

Provides outpatient treatment options for people struggling with substance use and mental health disorders (dual diagnosis). They offer programming consisting of PHP, IOP, OP and aftercare services. Licensed counselors meet with clients for individual counseling and group counseling. Case managers meet with clients to assist them with external needs and goals such as housing, food, life skills, employment, etc. Eligible clients can apply for Responsible Living Housing options.

Bipolar Peer Support Group | Mental Health America Of Ohio

The Bipolar Peer Support Group is an opportunity for people living with this disorder to connect, find validation, and potentially learn some new coping strategies. Two trained co-facilitators will maintain a safe environment for people of all backgrounds to share space. Peer Supporters are people who have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorders who have been successful in their recovery. They use their recovery stories to help others in similar situations by providing support, encouragement, hope and resources. Our ProBono Counseling program provides short-term counseling to individuals who are uninsured or under insured, free of charge. MHA provides the 40 hour training for individuals interested in pursuing a career in peer support. Our trainings are approved for certification in both Ohio and Kentucky.
