Offers additional support and services including special interest groups/programs (e.g. crafts), social outings, workshops/presentations, rent/utility assistance and volunteer opportunities. Group transportation to grocery store is available from select locations.

Maintains a specialized database on disability-related services in the community. Provides disability-related information and referral services to community. Publishes a guide to accessible housing and transportation in Central Ohio.

Offers free anonymous confidential AIDS testing for anyone at risk of an HIV infection and counseling to at-risk individuals. Referral services are provided for those who test positive. Testing is done on a walk-in basis only. Also offers community and school presentations on HIV/AIDS information and education, plus behavioral modification intervention for adolescents, youth, women of childbearing age, incarcerated men and free pregnancy testing.

Provides copies of business (Yellow Pages) and residential (White Pages) phone directories.

Services include adoptions of dogs and cats; discount programs for pet neutering/spaying; lost and found registry of pets; training class for dogs; pet therapy in nursing homes; foster home program for stray animals; dog licensing; humane education program for children; and a speakers bureau.

Provides a directory of services for older adults called "Resource Guide for Older Adults and their Families". Information in the guide includes how to resolve consumer issues, applying for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, contacting mental health and crisis services, housing options for older adults, engaging legal and financial services, planning for long-term care, lifelong learning programs and more. Can also provide individual brochures and information on organizations that deal with specific aspects and health conditions of aging.

Offers bi-monthly newsletter and bi-monthly calendar of events which keeps senior citizens of Preble County informed of Council on Aging activities, programs, and services. Also publishes other information of interest to senior citizens.

Provides speakers on cancer prevention and early detection to organizations. Builds relationships with community-based organizations and health care providers, schools, parks and communities to plan, organize and develop effective cancer prevention and early detection programs and activities. It is recommended Cervical Cancer testing (screening) should begin at age 25; Breast Screenings/Mammogram should start every year for Women between age 40-44; and regular mammograms should happen annually for Women between age 45-54. Women 55 and older can switch to a mammogram every other year.

Outreach services provide older adults with the assistance needed to access the human services system and provide linkage between client and needed services.
