Provides support services to all survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children.Services include but are not limited to crisis support, weekly support group, linkages to assistance with food security, legal and medical cases, child care, employment, housing and more.

Assists individuals in gaining access to a range of services available to them in the community, such as housing, income assistance, safety, physical and behavioral health needs, parenting education and vocational needs. Develops an Individual Service Plan (ISP) with the client and works with victims of domestic violence on issues of self-esteem, life-skills, and safety planning for themselves and their children. Also provides reestablishment services, such as relocation assistance and emergency rent/mortgage payments, security deposits for those with financial need. Often provides needed household items such as furniture, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, clothes, food, etc. Maintains follow-up contact with clients for a minimum of three months to two years.

Offers additional assistance for battered women or men who are initiating a divorce.

Includes information on the legal process, accompaniment to court appointments, safety planning, and planning for next steps in the legal process. Advocates are not attorneys but have access to lists of attorneys who are knowledgeable about domestic violence. Also provides case management for survivors of domestic violence.

Offers a free, anonymous telephone service that provides telephone counseling, information and referral to individuals who feel overwhelmed, depressed, out-of-control or in need of support. Families and individuals receive support, education, counseling or referrals for their particular issues and questions.

Provides telephone crisis intervention services for anyone who has experienced domestic abuse. Services include steps to ensure immediate safety, short-term emotional support, assistance with shelter, legal information and advocacy, referrals for medical treatment, ongoing counseling and/or group support, and other related services.

Reviews police reports on all incidents of domestic violence in the city. Keeps statistics on incidents and sends victims an informational letter with a list of resources appropriate to the situation. Also distributes information on domestic violence.

Accompaniment to court is provided to victims who live in the areas served. Accompaniment services are available for victims with criminal complaints, child custody cases, juvenile court cases if the parents have been together but never married, divorce cases, and domestic relations cases. Those who are clients may have access to donated cell phones to use in emergencies.

Will speak about domestic violence and how it relates to elder abuse, peer and dating violence, workplace violence, and abuse. Healthy Relationship presentations for schools is also offered. Trains professionals to more effectively identify and intervene in domestic violence situations.

Provides emergency, temporary boarding for pets of individuals in homes experiencing domestic violence. Screening is done on a case-by-case basis, and assistance is not guaranteed in every situation due to space constraints. Assistance is generally for no longer than 14 days.

Provides parenting classes, domestic violence classes for men and women, classes for community education and professional training about the nature and extent of domestic violence. Topics include dating violence, healthy relationships, domestic violence, and stalking.
