Investigates housing discrimination complaints throughout the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and provides advocacy services for persons who believe they have been encountered discrimination in housing (both in the public and private sector, whether rental units or purchased housing). If necessary the agency can do discrimination testing to confirm discrimination allegations. Can also make referrals to outside agencies for legal and other related services. Also conducts educational workshops for landlords, rental agents, real estate agents, and others as to what constitutes discrimination in housing. And how they can best comply with the law.

The Freedom Center’s Housing Support Program provides comprehensive assistance to help community members secure and maintain stable housing. Through education and direct support services, the goal is to work to remove barriers to housing and promote long-term housing stability.

6–9 month housing stability program provides permanent housing solutions with case management, employment assistance and referrals, help accessing VA benefits, medical appointment support, SNAP application assistance, and budgeting guidance.

Provides rapid re-housing services for individuals and/or families impacted by domestic violence. Program guidelines follow rapid re-housing standards established by OH-506 Continuum of Care. Program currently includes Steps to Independence (adults with children), Safe Way Home (individuals), and Opportunity Home (youth age 18 to 25).

Separate quarters are provided for men, women, and families with children. Breakfast, supper and overnight lodging are provided for up to 30 days. Laundry room and television room.

Faith Mission's Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) helps and supports low-income veterans who are either at risk or homeless. This program focuses on preventing homelessness and ensures housing stability for veterans and their families within the community.

Transitional age youth (TAY) Housing program serves families where head of household is between 18-24 years old. Clients are linked with a case manager who assists with identifying stable housing, providing financial assistance and goal planning as well as connection to community resources.

Provides assistance to veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.The GLCAP Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program provides housing assistance and other services for veterans. We can help cover rental arrearages, first-month rent, security deposits and other needs such as utility assistance, moving costs and budgeting.

The Ashtabula County Housing Advisory Panel (HAP) group consists of representatives from local social service housing providers who are there to help those with their housing issues. HAP meets with and assists those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

YHDP is a joint TH/RR (Transitional Housing/Rapid Rehousing) program that focuses on helping young people experiencing homelessness find, obtain, and maintain housing, further their education, and gain or maintain employment.

Provides a short-term intervention program for households at greatest risk of homelessness. Eligible program participants receive financial support to stay in their housing unit, including assistance with a limited amount of past-due rent and utility expenses.

Connects families and individuals experiencing homelessness to permanent housing through time-limited financial aid and supportive services.

Coordinated effort to identify, assess and find appropriate options for homeless individuals and families seeking housing or related services, and/or for those at imminent risk of becoming homeless.
