Assists clients in receiving a lower interest rate car loan through Superior Credit Union in order to gain or retain reliable transportation for employment by purchasing their own vehicle. Through the Wheels to Work process, candidates work intensely with an OhioMeansJobs job coach on locating potential vehicles, assistance with working with the car dealerships during the buying process, car maintenance education, and extensive financial literacy and budgeting. By making on time monthly car payments over the loan duration, clients have the opportunity to build their credit. Participation in budget counseling, general car maintenance, and/or employment assistance may be required.

Financial Assistance | United Way Services Of Geauga County

Works with a variety of churches and organizations to provide temporary emergency financial aid for residents of Geauga County. Provides assistance with past due rent and mobile home lot payments (does not help with current month's rent). Also assists with utility bill payments (water, gas, electric), fuel oil, and propane. Will help with purchasing wood for heating. Does not help with phone bills. Provides gasoline vouchers for medical appointments or job interviews. Funds are limited and subject to availability and the amount of assistance provided may vary depending on what funds the agency has and the client’s situation. In all cases, agency will check to see if the client is eligible for assistance through other programs or agencies first. Payments are made directly to the vendor (not the client). In some situations, client may need to provide a co-payment for the service needed.

Gas Vouchers | Knox County Veterans Service Office

KCVSO will reimburse the cost of fuel going to or coming back from VA hospitals or clinics with provided proof of an appointment. You must come into our office with a valid drivers license or state ID before funds can be issued. Vouchers are good for a period of 5 days from the date of issue. Failure to consistently provide proof of appointments could result in a 1 year suspension of gas voucher privileges.
