Offers a Career & Academic Readiness Education program at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers offers free classes, workshops and programs to help students prepare for the workforce. For some, obtaining a job includes completing high school, improving basic skills, and/or entering college or adult certification programs. All students go through a process to identify their strengths and interests and the careers that line up with those strengths and interests, while taking into consideration what in-demand occupations are available locally. Our classes, with support from Aspire funding, help students meet their individual personal and professional goals.

Offers GED instruction and preparation classes for individuals needing to obtain their GED.

Offers training sessions and workshops on a variety of educational topics for parents of children with disabilities and the professionals who work with them. Promotes parent-professional collaboration and ongoing partnership to support educational and service planning. Offers training sessions to support parents with the daily challenges of caring for a child with a disability.

Provides English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and job skills training to help refugees and immigrants integrate into their new country and become self-sufficient. Clients receive daily English and job readiness classes that teach vocabulary, literacy and conversational English skills as well as computer literacy and job preparation. Clients also receive individualized job search and placement assistance.

Provides training that teaches how to help save a life from suicide. Training includes learning how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Training has been supported by the American Association of Suicidology and the American Psychiatric Association.

Provides opportunities for students to practice literacy skills and study for the GED via computer-based software. Students can work from home, a local library, or other location with reliable Internet access.

Offers older adults to enroll in classes on a non-credit basis (audit).

Works with adults who need help improving their English-speaking skills to be better parents, efficient workers, and involved community members. All sessions are held on Zoom and are available upon request.

Adult Writing Workshops are held throughout the year and are designed for adults of all levels of writing experience. Each workshop and class typically covers a different topic and lasts 1-3 hours.
