Offers a Career & Academic Readiness Education program at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers offers free classes, workshops and programs to help students prepare for the workforce. For some, obtaining a job includes completing high school, improving basic skills, and/or entering college or adult certification programs. All students go through a process to identify their strengths and interests and the careers that line up with those strengths and interests, while taking into consideration what in-demand occupations are available locally. Our classes, with support from Aspire funding, help students meet their individual personal and professional goals.

Help you build basic academic, reading, writing, math and computer skills. To prepare you for job changes, help your children with homework, to enter college or other job training with confidence, or to prepare for official GED test.

COLLEGE ASPIRE offers FREE hands-on, engaging summer workshops in technology based programs. Open to youth ages 10-18 and taught by college faculty on a college campus, COLLEGE ASPIRE demonstrates to both students and their families that college is accessible in their community and possible regardless of their circumstances.

Trained instructors work individually with students to improve reading, writing, and arithmetic. These pre-GED classes are designed to help students get better jobs, become wiser shoppers, and broaden their worlds. This free assistance helps the student to begin the basics necessary to ultimately pass their GED.

Accepts all adult learners of all levels. Basic literacy, GED test prep, ESOL, financial planning, employment support, and college readiness. Every student is assessed and provided an individual learning plan and assigned instructor.

Provides basic literacy education to teach new refugees/immigrants simple skills such as how to write their name, give their home address, phone number, etc. Also provides tutoring to adults to refugee/immigrant adults who are taking GED/Basic Education classes.

The Ohio Means Jobs – Athens County, Aspire program provides classes and individual instruction for adults who wish to improve their basic skills and/or prepare for the General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test, which can now be taken at Tri-County Career Center. The Aspire program provides small group and individual instruction in the following areas: - Basic literacy skills - GED exam preparation - Math - Language Arts - Social Studies - Life skills - Employability skills - Basic computer skills.

Aspire, formerly known as ABLE, provides free services for individuals who need assistance acquiring the skills to be successful in postsecondary education and training, and employment. In addition to assisting students with GED preparation, this program can also include basic math, reading and writing skills.

Service includes classes in basic reading and math, classes that refine skills to take one of the tests that serves as the equivalent of a high school diploma, high school equivalency testing, classes to develop English-speaking skills when a first language is not English, and the opportunity for eligible individuals to complete requirements for a high school diploma by passing a job skills test and completing job training in health care, manufacturing, logistics, food preparation, emergency services or construction. Successful fulfillment of job skills test and job training result in a high school diploma as well as any earned certificate.

Provides computer-based instruction in math, reading, and English skills for adults, and provides preparation for GED test and GED practice testing.

Work with the Hispanic and Multi-cultural communities and their families through discussion and collaboration to provide information on options and referrals to Behavioral Health professionals, facilities, and organizations specializing in the client's needs.
