YWCA offers babysitting classes for grades six through eight. Classes focus on safety and life skills. Students participate in small group interactive learning, role-play and practice rescue skills with manikins. Students must attend all three classes to be a registered as a Safe Sitter. Membership NOT required.

Red Cross offers an array of community education including first aid/ CPR, AED, HIV/AIDS facts, Baby sitter training, blood borne pathogens, and sport safety training. May offer free smoke alarms as well as testing existing alarms and providing home fire preparedness training.

Educates parents and care givers on quality indicators of child care, makes referrals to child care providers, helps link families to community resources, provides general and Step Up to Quality approved trainings to early care and education professionals, offers CDA credential training, and supports child care programs through technical assistance and resources.

Child care providers learn from highly qualified instructors while interacting with other early childhood professionals. Training may include single sessions or series that focus on important child development, early childhood education best practices and basic health and safety training.

Course provides information on how to care for infants and children, how handle emergency situations, and how to handle a variety of behaviors. Classes are offered online.

Provides a referral service to help families find appropriate child care resources and schools such as nursery schools, pre-schools, Head Start programs, before and after school care, and in-home care. Offers families information on choosing a child care provider. Provides training for child care providers. Maintains a calendar of child care training opportunities.

Provides professional development workshops for home and center-based childcare providers. Offers assistance to individuals and groups wanting to start childcare programs (center, home or after school programs), provides center accreditation, Child Development Associate, and Step Up to Quality support and training.

Provides a wide range of services for families, including referrals to child care and early education programs that meet their family needs for child care. Provides assistance to parents and families on a variety of parenting topics, including discipline, literacy and special needs. Provides childcare provider training, a lending library with books and supplies for childcare providers, fingerprinting services, and the Step Up To Quality program for type A childcare providers.

Provides babysitting and child care instruction. Include topics such as choosing age-appropriate activities, basic child care, like bottle feeding, child behavior, leadership, professionalism, safety, starting a babysitting business, and more. Please note: classes are not intended for those seeking certification for state-licensed child care providers and does not meet all state requirements for such certification.

This in-person course, which takes about 6 hours, teaches the same topics as the online babysitter training class, plus it offers hands-on skills practice and additional training in first aid. You can also sign up for Babysitter’s Training with Pediatric First Aid/CPR, which takes about 9 ½ hours and also offers a 2-year certification in Pediatric First Aid/CPR. A digital certificate is available upon successful completion of this course. 4C for Children provides Ohio Approved in-person or virtual training to help early childhood professionals advance their skills, programs and careers. Child care providers learn from highly qualified instructors while interacting with other early childhood professionals either virtually or in-person at 4C training locations. Training may include single sessions or series that focus on important child development, early childhood education best practices and basic health and safety training.

Provides youth services classes with: Babysitter's Training, Disaster Preparedness such as the Pillowcase Project and Prepare with Pedro.

Offers a number of different trainings for child care providers. Maintains a calendar of community training workshops, seminars, and programs pertaining to child care issues. Provides information on topics of interest to child care providers and those who wish to become child care providers. Also offers day care home providers support, materials, consultation, and networking opportunities.

Responsible for control and extinguishing of fires in an urban setting; provide emergency medical services to the community the inspection of buildings and property to eliminate potential fire hazards; provide community wide fire safety, first aid, CPR, and life safety education; and training of firefighters and emergency medical technicians to maintain high quality of service in a timely manner.

This will enhance their relationship with their children and create lasting memories with their grandchildren.

Offers a variety of programming and classes available to the community including but not limited to: arts and crafts instruction, computer classes, babysitting instruction, dance classes, foreign language instruction, gardening classes, musical instrument training, financial planning, small business development, cooking classes, and dog obedience.
