Local distribution site for the Ohio Buckles Buckeyes Child Safety Seat Program employs one Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician to oversee the program, assist with child safety seat questions and to check your child’s safety seat installation. Checking of seats is by appointment only. Safety seats are intended primarily for distribution to eligible low-income families whose child has outgrown their infant-only car seat.

Provides size-appropriate seats for children that buckle into passenger vehicles. Seats are fitted to the child and installed by a technician. Offers front-facing, high-backed seats as well as booster seats for older children. Distribution includes safety education and installation of the seat in vehicle.

Provides assistance to qualified individuals and families. Intended to meet the local needs of families to overcome immediate barriers and help them become and stay self-supporting. Assistance available includes: Employment related expenses such as: -Vehicle repairs. - Driver's license fees (new or expired, does not include reinstatement). - Reimbursements for tools, equipment, uniforms, shoes/boots, and so forth. - Fingerprinting costs. - Gas vouchers for new employment (until receipt of first paycheck). Shelter/Housing expenses such as: - Rent or deposit for forestalling court-ordered evictions in rentals. - Bills to forestall utility shutoffs (gas, electric and water). - Fuel oil and propane purposes. - Emergency shelter due to fire, natural disaster, states of emergency, or domestic violence situations. Kinship assistance includes: - For a new kinship caregiver within six (6) months of a child moving into the home: Furniture and other items needs to care for children in the home. - Once a child(ren) has been with a kinship provider for more than six (6) months: There is an available reimbursement of child care costs up to four (4) months a year.

Car seat checks- learn to install and use, access to low cost car seats; Home safety- receive safety items such as gates, outlet covers, etc; Bike helmets provided at a discount

Provides prenatal and postnatal services utilizing an Earn While You Learn pregnancy and parenting education program. Baby items including cribs, car seats, diapers, clothing, etc are earned as lessons are completed. Group classes on safe sleep, preventing child sexual abuse, and shaken baby syndrome are also offered. Staff are certified as child passenger safety technicians and can check for proper installation of car seats.

Provides assistance with paying for repair or purchase of appliances, personal expenses (clothing, child restraint seats, diapers, toiletries, and so forth), home furnishings (beds, mattress and box springs, kitchen table, chairs, and so forth). Provides assistance with paying for treatment, relocation, and education due to infestation of pest(s) including but not limited to bed bugs, fleas, rodents, roaches. Maximum amount of assistance will vary depending on what is needed.

Provides child safety seats and booster seats.

Provides a program of classes that cover pregnancy-related topics such as pregnancy, baby care, discipline, and relationships. Participants earn credits they can use for items available by the agency, including car seats, cribs, diapers, formula and others.

Women’s Center–Dayton offers abortion alternatives including free pregnancy tests and ultrasound scans to those who qualify. Free and confidential consultations are provided to clients who are pregnant so can understand options: adoption, abortion, or parenting. Program provides a 24 hour helpline, free pregnancy test and assistance, free ultrasound, post-abortion support, information about abortion alternatives and mentoring services. Material assistance: free infant formula and diapers, baby and infant equipment. Quantities and ability to earn material assistance are determined by agency.

Provides comprehensive home visiting services in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams Counties. This service is for pregnant women and families with children up to age 3 who are income eligible.

Provides child safety seats and booster seats to low income families.

If your family has a WIC eligible income, your child can receive a child car seat from the Health Department for $10. (Your family does not have to be on WIC, they just need to meet the income guidelines - 185% of the poverty level). Parents need to attend a short class to receive the car seat. If you need help putting the seat in your car, we can help with that, too.

Child car seat inspections are provided by certified seat technicians from the health department by appointment. Also can help provide you with a no cost seat if: - Your child meets weight and height requirements for available seats - You attend, participate in, and complete a car seat class - Your child is WIC or Medicaid eligible.

Through the Ohio Buckles Buckeyes Program, HAPCAP offers free child safety seats and booster seats to eligible families in Athens County.

The goals of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Division are to eliminate health disparities, improve birth outcomes, and improve the health status of Licking County’s women, infants, children, youth and families. MCH Priorities: - Decreasing childhood obesity, reducing food insecurity, and supporting breastfeeding; - Decreasing infant mortality by ensuring infants have a safe sleep environment and car safety seats; - Increasing parenting skills, promoting early childhood development and school readiness; - Providing referrals to safety net services assure that the health needs of women and children are met; - Addressing social determinants of health; - Free transportation to medical appointments - LCHD has partnered with Uber to help women get a free ride to their next medical appointment. Ohio Buckles Buckeyes (OBB) Car Seat Program, Wyandot County Public Health provides child safety seats and booster seats to eligible low-income families for a minimal fee.

Provides maternity and baby/children's clothing (sizes 0 to 5T) for clients. Also offers items for infants such as cribs, pack-n-plays, car seats/boosters, and high chairs. Requires program participation to earn credits to receive items.

Provides classes about the installation and use of child car seats and booster seats. Class participants are offered low cost child car seats and booster seats at the end of the program while supplies lasts. Also provides a recorded information line that offers tips on correct car seat/booster installation, recall information, selection, and other related information. Provides car seat inspections where certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians inspect child car seats and booster seats to ensure safe and secure installation. Will provide informed speakers who can present information on child seats and booster seats to groups.

Certified Car Seat Technician assists with car seat installation and inspection. Program also assists with providing car seats and booster seats to low-income families through partnership with Ohio Buckles Buckeyes.

Provides free car seats, and car seat instruction to families who could not otherwise afford protective passenger gear. Special K.A.R.S provides education to physicians, childcare professionals, and families who require the use of a special needs car seat. Free special needs care seats and education are available.

Distributes discounted child passenger safety seats to income eligible families. Conducts inspections which offer guidance regarding child passenger safety seats and the law, choosing a car seat that is appropriate for a particular child's height and weight, correct car seat installation and restraining a child in a car seat. Also offers The Car Seat Basics online class to any interested individual.

Provides education programs and new car seats to income eligible families.
