Interpreting and Translation Services provides 24/7 expert interpreters for the Asian community to individuals and families, hospitals, social services agencies, police departments, courts, and schools as well as other public and private organizations in Central Ohio. Languages available include: Chinese/Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Hindi, Tamil, Japanese, Lao, Cambodian, Korean, Vietnamese, and more. Interpretation can be offered in person and over the phone. Our translation department is available to translate your materials into Asian languages.

Enables persons with communication disabilities to use their TDD/TTY to place calls to and receive calls from hearing people and other persons with TDD/TTY equipment. Assists hearing persons with phoning someone with TDD/TTY equipment. Calls can also be made using specific wireless handheld devices and captioned phones that allows callers to speak and hear as well as read printed text. Calls can also be made to and from telebraille equipment. All calls are confidential.

Provides relay services for individuals with impaired vision. During these relay calls, the Communication Assistant (CA) will type at a normal speed, but the message will come across at a rate of 15 words per minute, allowing users to achieve a more readable rhythm. Users can also request increased or decreased rates of text in increments of 5 words per minute.

Speech-To-Text And Transcript Service | Deaf Services Center

C-Print is a computer based "speech to print" transcription system used as a support service option for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. C-Print is most popular in the educational environment, however; it can also be used in business meetings, and seminars. A typist, called a C-Print captionist, types the lecture or meeting content into a laptop computer. The typed information appears on the consumer's laptop simultaneously, so the consumer can follow along during the class or meeting. There notes may then be e-mailed to the consumer for review. In addition to C-Print, other Speech-to-text programs can be used in order to provide captioning services on site or remotely.

Assists with telephone communications for persons with speech disabilities. Messages from a speech disabled person are repeated by a communication assistant (CA) to the receiver of the call. CAs are trained in speech patterns and language recognition. Offers a special service for those who can speak, but can not hear called CAP TEL.
