The Getting Ahead program is a 16 session workshop that is based on the work of Phil Devol in his book Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin'-By World. Its purpose is to support, nurture and assist those who wish to rise out of poverty, especially generational poverty. Some limited transportation assistance may be available. Gift cards are given at each session.

Delivers an 18-week curriculum focused on removing barriers and promoting economic self-sufficiency. Participants attend class once per week, examine their resources and aspirations, complete personal money management courses, and receive individual assistance in overcoming barriers. Coaching Diversified | Refuge Ministries Development

Provides guidance to help develop the skills needed to live independently. Program teaches life skills, job readiness (how to make a resume, interviewing techniques), dealing with anger, and how to break the cycle of abusive relationships. Also offers counseling and information to this who want to start their own business. Offered in group and one-on-one settings.
