With homestead, eligible homeowners receive an exemption on a portion of appraised value from taxation for a single family home. Eligible military Veterans receive an additional exemption. Provides access to emergency funds available through the various military aid societies (Army Emergency Relief, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Air Force Aid Society, and the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance). The funds can be used for a variety of purposes such as medical care, car repair, emergency travel and utility bill payment assistance. Assistance may come in the form of an interest free loan, a direct grant, or some combination of the two.

Provides temporary housing for veterans and active-duty military personnel who are receiving treatment at a military or Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center and their families.

Records military veterans' discharge papers (DD-214). After the papers have been recorded the original copy is returned to the client. Records are not available to the general public.
